We are calling this the "Upper Lakes Challenge.” We will be starting at Six Mile Lake working our way to Kewadin on Elk Lake. The first leg of the challenge is from Six Mile Lake (Echo Park) to Wooden Shoe Park, Ellsworth. Driving directions are ... Ellsworth, Six mile lake road to Echo Park. If you have gone to Dingman Rd you have gone too far.
P.F.D.'s must be worn at all times for all sections. A twelve ft. minimum boat length, with floatation. Bow line required. Change of clothes in a dry bag or sealed plastic bag required. Full spray skirt/deck, paddle float and pump recommended. No on-shore rest breaks, so bring water and energy snacks. Safety reasons you are expected to stay together. This will be a shore paddle. Trip is approximately, 6 miles. We may meet for dinner at Torch River Cafe in Eastport. If you have any questions give Ron a call or text.
