Upper Platte River from US-31 Veteran's Park to Deadstream Road
How was it?
No major obstructions, but still required negotiating around stuff. The last stretch is really peaceful and we did not miss the turnoff (which has happened more than once in the past).
What kind of boats were there?
Three solo canoes (Bob, Jocelyn, Sara) and 3 kayaks (J&L, Dean)
Anything noteworthy?
That morning we called the outfitter at the Jordan, and he told us that a storm the previous night had brought down 3 major trees that would prevent our passage down the river. So we changed the location to the Platte and everyone was happy. Gobs of marsh marigolds! Lots of bird life too. We didn't see anyone else on the river, and all went out for dinner together afterwards.
