Come join us for an afternoon trip on the Boardman, only 30 minutes from downtown TC.  You will marvel at the remote feeling you get without going very far from home.

We will begin at the Forks Access, take a short break for a snack at Scheck's, and proceed downstream through the new section of the river that has replaced Brown Bridge Pond (since the dam was removed in the fall of 2012).  There is now 2.5 miles of free flowing river where we used to have a one mile slog across the sometimes-mucky pond.  Scenery is totally unique, so if you have not seen the new landscape yet, it is quite a sight to behold.  We may even see a few spring wildflowers, like bright yellow marsh marigolds.  We will also paddle underneath the newly constructed (as of spring 2017) footbridge over the river, which connects the hiking trails in the Brown Bridge Quiet Area.

There are several fun riffles along the way.  The current is quick in the springtime, and it's a good place to practice maneuvering in current and practicing back ferries.  We may have to duck underneath some trees and perhaps do a short portage.

Paddling time should be about 3 hours.  Bring your usual paddling gear, ropes for the bow and stern, a water bottle and a snack.
