This is trip #55 hosted by Lois & John this season - out of 83 TAPC outings.  It will be the last one for us for 2021.

We especially want to welcome all those folks who helped with any of the Pine River cleanups that took place this summer.  This is the time to enjoy the fruits of our labors!

Given the possibility of tight turns and downed trees, you must be able to maneuver your boat sideways across the stream using back ferries.  If you are not comfortable making quick turns, it's best to wait until next summer to learn the skills that will allow you to control your boat in fast moving current.  As you will see from the trip report links below, we can encounter some dicey situations in the fall, and we want to make sure that everyone is safe and comfortable.

You will need to have a National Forest vehicle permit but no watercraft permit (they aren't required after Labor Day).  If you don't have a senior or annual pass, you can purchase a one day pass for $5 at the parking lot.

Paddling time should be about 4 hours, with a break for lunch at Dobson.  We'll meet in the morning, do the shuttle and then head downstream.  Hopefully it should be a peaceful float, with good opportunities for photos of fall colors along the river banks.
