July 4th Boardman, Forks to BBL

10 paddlers escaped Cherry Festival July 4th crowds on the Boardman River. The weather decided to play nice at last - sun but not too much. Perfect.
6 kayaks and 4 canoes put in at Forks and stopped for a snack at the horse beach.
All was well until a couple of people believed the river when it showed them a clear way over a gravel bed. It lied! But the cavalry came to the rescue - in Pelican boats. A lesson in not judging by appearances!
We got out at Brown Bridge Landing where boats were arriving by the half dozen. So 8 of us went to Peegeo's for lunch.
What a great way to spend July 4th!
