Despite some ominous forecasts, the weather was lovely. The promised rain didn't turn up until we were home.
Jacqui hosted the trip for Norm who couldn't be there. She had a crack team - Marlene, Loretta and Paul and Irene Marcussen - all in kayaks. It was a long day as we cleaned all the way from Graves to Rogers Rd since earlier reports said that the most trash was below Webster Bridge.
Unfortunately that was right and the cans on the bottom beyond Webster Bridge (where we stopped for lunch) were extremely hard to get. The water was very deep and very fast. Paul managed to get some with his spear and Jacqui snagged few more with her net but each victory took a long time. Eventually we reluctantly left the rest for another day when hopefully we will have a canoe or two.
The team got a good haul and even two people taking unplanned swims didn't make a dent in the fun.
