Boardman River Brown Bridge to Beitner Rd,Aug 21st 2024.

Just three of us paddled the Boardman from Brown Bridge Landing to Beitner Road. Jacqui and Marlene showed Janet Csanyi, a newcomer from Texas, our home river. It was a lovely day and we pitied all those who hadn't come with us!
There had been a lot of rain at the weekend so Marlene was rightly concerned about whether we would be able to get under the 3 low bridges on this section. But she remembered the rule that Sara taught us: if the water at the Beitner landing is below the level of the dock then even canoes can make it.
We were in luck. When we left the cars at the takeout the water was at least 18" below the dock. And that proved to be a correct measure as there was plenty of room under all three bridges. None of us even had to duck.
It was a gorgeous day but fall is definitely just around the corner.
At the end we had to wait for a group of adventurous kayaks to launch to go down the rapids.
