July 1st - Karen's Birthday Paddle on the Jordan
Karen threw a paddle party on the Jordan for her birthday ( I won't say which one). Lois and Karen carpooled and Norm and Jocelyn carpooled. Mike Connell brought some friends - a couple named Mike and Nancy.
The Connell group ran their own shuttle since they were only going to Webster Bridge and Don from Swiss Hideaway ran the shuttle to Rogers for the rest of us.
It had rained the night before and the river was nice and high.
We played tag with the Connell group and finally ended up all together at Webster Bridge where they took out.
The last four of us continued past the weir and on to Rogers.
Norm did a 10 item cleanup that sort of got away from him and he ended up with a full bag of trash but the river was pretty clean to begin with.
Lois had made birthday cards for Karen and Norm since his birthday is in early July, too. He didn't want to open it before the actual date but he was forced to and he was pleased that she and John had done such a sweet thing.
We all want to wish Karen a very happy birthday and we hope she has many more years of paddling fun. All four of us went out for lunch at Murray's Bar and Grill in East Jordan, where Karen not only got treated by the other three of us, but was more than happy to share her free peanut butter brownie dessert!
Thanks for inviting us to your paddle party.
