July 15 Pine River Cleanup

The Pine River cleanup was a success!  We found lots of treasures to put in our trash bags.  When we first put in at Dobson a trash find was pretty hard to locate but the finds increased as we neared the take out at the Peterson Bridge.  Although we encountered a few light showers the weather turned out to be in our favor.  The wind was calm during most of the paddle and fog hovered over the river frequently enveloping us in an eerie scene.  River cleanups are fun!  I wish housework could be the same.

P.S.  One amusing incident was when John and Lois found a grabber stick floating downstream, mentioned it to Jocelyn and she said, "Cool!"  Twenty minutes later, when we radioed that we had it, she noticed that it was hers!
