Who came? Karen, Marv and Marlene, Bob, John and Lois, Betty and Mike, Becky, Deena, Tracie and her son Gwinn, Cindy and Dawn.
Where did you go? Manistee River from below Hodenpyl Dam to Red Bridge
What kind of boats were there? All kayaks except Bob in his solo canoe. Karen was trying out her new Hurricane Tampico. It looked like a Hurricane party as John, Lois and Dawn had their Tampicos as well.
What was the trip like? We started out on a breezy but gorgeous morning. The sky was a beautiful blue and we were all enjoying the cooler and less humid weather. I think this might have been the first paddle in quite some time with no swim breaks! The wildlife sighting of the day was a bald eagle flying overhead which John spotted.
We had a leisurely lunch along the sandy banks and continued paddling, reaching the take out at around 2:00. Everyone was impressed with how quickly we paddled this stretch, but sad to see such a lovely day come to an end. Some of the group continued on to ice cream at the Dairy Pit in Mesick.
Thanks to everyone who came and helped me break in my new kayak!
