We like to start the season with an easy outing on the AuSable. It is always fun to have a casual paddle and renew acquaintances after a long winter. The following people were on the trip:
John, Lois, Sara, Bob, Dean, Diane, Mike, Barb, Marv, Marlene, Tracie, Linda, Karen, and Tom.
It was very cool when we launched; notice the frost on the grass.
The sun warmed us all as we went down the river and chatted with people we hadn’t seen in months. Following a leisurely lunch at Canoe Harbor, we enjoyed the float down to Stephan's Bridge. After loading our boats many of us decided to continue the party at Dawson & Stevens in Grayling. Sara had informed the leaders at the put in that she was going to hike the Mason Tract immediately after the paddle and would not be able to help with the group shuttle. She left the group early and sped ahead so she could get to her hike on her schedule.
Marv got the prize for the biggest sundae!
