It was a gorgeous summer day to paddle down the Sturgeon River
from Wolverine to Fisher Woods Road, afternoon temperatures were in the mid
eighties. So we didn’t mind getting a
little wet while maneuvering in the fast water, around log jams; it was
“refreshing”. One person whose name
rhymes with Dunk was “refreshed” more than others. We were on the river for five hours which
included a stop for lunch. The caravan
came to a halt a least a couple of times when John cleared logs or brush so
that we could continue. Damselflies, a
delight to see along rivers, were the only insects noticeable.
Thanks Lois and John for rescheduling this trip down the
Sturgeon, it was the perfect day for it.
