Trip Reports

May 16 Pine River, Elm Flats to Peterson

Published on 5/16/2013
Who: Lois & John, Judy & Fred, Tracie and Gerald

Where: Elm Flats to Peterson

Wildlife: two pairs of mergansers, a mink, and deer

Wildflowers: numerous (see photos)

Wild times: The river has been cleared, thanks to the super crew from Pine River Paddlesports Center, though there are still several spots where careful maneuvering is a necessity.
We had one unauthorized swim break - no injuries, but it was tough to retrieve the boat.  We recalled that  like learning to ride a bike, once you learn how to capsize, you never forget.  And there's a good reason to carry a pump!  A dry bag too!

Weather was spectacular, with the transition from boots to sandals being the order of the day.
A great group, with fun times for all.
