Obviously, a 17 ft sea kayak does not fit the Trip Description for a "fast, narrow obstacle course through low leaning trees in a cedar swamp, with lots of twists & turns, and some riffles". This week's river conditions on the Upper Platte have been as challenging as the Sturgeon or Pine when high & fast, and that's why I chose to paddle it again so soon! On Tues, we only had one swimmer & a pair of glasses lost, but today, there were 10 swims: a local fisherman 1x, one of the Riverside rentals 4x, and a new TAPC member 5x. Joe Meredith & John Walton assisted me with the rescues, and their efforts were much appreciated! After so many times in the water, I finally had to put on my raingear to stay warm. Afterwards, Joe cooked up some fresh trout he caught in West Bay for all of us to enjoy & it was a delicious treat! Trip Report & Photos by Trip Leader, Sara Cockrell
