Participants in today's paddle included John, Lois and Leigh (visiting them from Texas), Fred and Judy, Tracie and two new paddlers Carol and Kathy, who both did exceptionally well. Leigh requested this particular section after paddling it last summer.
The group put in at "John's Landing", and it wasn't long before the "lumberjacks" were called into service. John, Fred and Lois took part in clearing a trail with their trusty saws.
One limb, even after trimming was unfortunately so low that it managed to snatch one paddler out of their boat and those that followed had to either lay down in their canoe or do a serious forward limbo.
When we arrived at the lunch spot, it seemed that the fastest paddler had sailed right past it. Despite Kathy's incredibly loud whistling (from her, not a whistle!), the intrepid paddler was already out of range, so her spouse decided to paddle downstream in hot pursuit. The rest of the group stayed at the appointed spot (Deward) and after lunch we caught up with them.
(Guess who is missing)
The weather cooperated with a nice cool overcast day and no rain. Another great day on the river!
