It's always fun to be able to put all the trip participants into one vehicle and all their boats on one trailer. That way we could be together for a lovely afternoon on our hometown river. John, Lois & Kathy all met for lunch at Opa, then connected with Tracie at Shumsky, where we left 3 cars.
On to Scheck's, and then down the river. It was Kathy's first time on the new section of the Boardman. We saw only one other person all day: a member of the GT Band was out checking the native grasses that they had planted earlier this year in the area where the pond used to be. The sun beams were so bright that it was sometimes tough to read the water. There are a couple of new trees down, and Kathy got to practice her back-ferry skills to avoid them. She thoroughly enjoyed the new kayak! And we thoroughly enjoyed spending the day together! We also encountered mergansers and great blue herons, and two guys from Savannah who helped us load up boats and the end of a lovely outing.
