John & Lois, Jocelyn & John, Tracie and her guest Susan all enjoyed a wonderful presentation at the Inland Seas building in Sutton's Bay. Some had ice cream before & some after. The talk was about the building of a dugout canoe and the adventures of the two young ladies as they circumnavigated Lake Michigan in their sturdy little 11 foot craft. Amy & Mary were delightful in the telling of the ups & downs as they sailed some & paddled some around the shoreline in a clockwise direction from the southern most part of the Lake. There was film and still photography taken through the journey with the plan to eventually make a documentary from the footage. A book is also in the works. The craft was retired after the trip and resides in a museum with a display that was conceived & directed by the gals.
