From Lois: We hadn't run the rapids since June 9, and I wanted to do it again. So did 4 others, plus the great blue heron. We relived our adventures later at Rico's. But here's a much better report from Jackie, and photos from John & Harold, including savior Jocelyn.
Here are a few things that I thought about on my trip home...
Things I learned today on Beitner Rapids.....
** The water in Beitner Rapids is COLD!!
** The four other people I was kayaking with are Awesome!!!!
** Thank you Lois, John, Harold and Jocelyn for all the advice, encouragement, and friendships... Jocelyn and her little red bucket - a BIG thank you for literally bailing me out today..lol...
** When you pack plastic bags and you think you have enough.... Pack MORE! Wet clothes take up a lot of space
**At the beginning of the kayak trip you might think your nylon bag is heavy ...it weighs 10 times more at the end of the trip with all your wet things in it..
** But most of all... IT WAS A BLAST and I would do it all again in a second.... well maybe not the swimming part.... Thanks again...
