We had about three dozen participants, including TAPC member Linda Woodruff, and Cyndi's daughter, who was my former calculus student. Dianne Walker helped John and me organize the program, courtesy of the US Coast Guard Air Station TC. She sent out press releases, and there was a blurb in the Record-Eagle last week. But the day before the event was to take place, we met with a reporter from TV 7&4 News, at 5:30 AM at Hull Park, and went live on the morning news show. That brought in over 20 registrants! Who knew that so many folks are watching the news at that hour? Here's a link to the coverage, which was quite extensive.
The class itself went very well, and everyone learned something new, or in most cases, a lot of new things. The commander of the base arrived to greet us and had a picture posted on Facebook before we were even done!
