Although the weather forecast said the rain was supposed to hold off until late in the day, it started to rain before we hit the tubes. It was light rain at first, and it was actually good to put on rain jackets because it was cool, and the jackets stopped the mosquitoes from biting us. As we got further down the river, it started to rain harder. Lois was having trouble paddling fast, so she and Fred paddled at a moderate pace, and I paddled on ahead as fast as I could go. I went down to Rogers Road where the car was, and Lois and Fred took out at Webster. Besides the abundance of mosquitoes, there were also lots of wildflowers.
