July 23, 2015 - 8th Annual South Branch AuSable River Cleanup
The day before the cleanup, John and I did this...
The next day, we got a perfect day for a change.
We met this fisherman who also appreciates a well made Mitchell canoe paddle
We had 6 youth workers from the Westminster Christian Camp in Roscommon
(Higgins Lake) helping us today. They were the BEST!!!
We headed out and saw many trout rising in the river as we headed north downstream.
We found some lumber with lots of nails and screws and I had brought the BRCS
saw
So we did a number on them to get them out of the river.
D' Lante' enjoyed using the saw.
Everyone carried one piece up to the Castle in one trip.
Then we ate:
They had a great time doing God's work. Two bags total for the whole trip.
That's a major improvement from past years.
Jackie and Tracie bonding after a great day on the river
Norm and John bonding at Talley's Log Cabin Bar in Lewiston - Our favorite place.
The Villager Diner in Lewiston - Another favorite for breakfast.
Then back to the lake for some more fun with fish and hooks.
We are gratified that the S Br is staying clean and clear of large construction
debris. I think we are making a difference after all these years of working
on this most gorgeous river section.
