The day started with a slight haze as 13 paddlers in 11 kayaks launched from Bowers Harbor towards Power Island. The haze soon vanished, and the group enjoyed a refreshing breeze, boats bouncing over 2 to 3-foot waves. Marcy & Sue also enjoyed getting splashed as the bows of their tandem kayaks plunged into every third wave! After a relaxing lunch on the island, we practically sailed back to the mainland, surfing on waves that cut the crossing time down to less than half of what it took to make the outbound trip!

Note from John: It was too wavy to get photos while we paddled.
