The M-37 launch is well maintained, paved with restrooms and ample parking. The 8 mile stretch between M-37 and Gleason's Landing is 40-60 feet wide and flows with a moderate current over a mostly sandy bottom. Depth 1-3 feet with deeper pockets. Paddlers will encounter few fallen trees or other obstacles, but be prepared to do some basic maneuvering around winding turns. The shoreline varies from sandy bluffs to shady hardwood forests, with unobstructed views of national forest lands. From Gleason's Landing to Bowman Bridge(about 3 mi.), the current remains moderate but the increased presence of sweepers and other obstacles makes things a bit more interesting.
