After a morning rain, we met for lunch, enjoyed a nice meal, then headed to the river. Tracie, Marv & Marlene ran a pre-shuttle then met the rest of the bunch at the put-in. Launching was accomplished with skill & aplomb which began our trip, setting the tone for the day. Conversations with friends, both treasured & new, combined with a few sightings of wildlife, geese, swans & a deer, made the paddle relaxing & enjoyable. The cloud formations were pleasant, but the wind gave the canoers some trouble now & then. The sun came out to play tag, warming us nicely along the way.
