Pre-BRCS - Forks to Schecks Cleanup
We wanted to do a cleanup on the Forks to Schecks section for CLUB members only
so we posted it late and 5 people showed up. It was a PERFECT day.
In the morning, I needed to clear a tree near River Pitch and my buddy John Wyrwas
said he wanted it out of the river, too. He needed the piece we would cut off to
help stop some erosion on his river property bank.
No one is happier than two old guys with ropes and a chain saw.
Then I headed up the Forks to meet the TAPC "Crew".
Everything was fine until Paul discovered he made a small error.
His paddle was not going to work but we fixed it up for him.
I knew that stuff I learned as a Boy Scout would pay off.
The river was simply gorgeous.
I wish people would not release balloons into the environment because
they end up in the river and lakes where they can do great harm.
We found 1 bag of trash but we separated the beer cans to recycle them.
We used to find piles of trash on this section and now just one bag. That is
a real testimony to the fact that we are making a difference on the Boardman.
