We met at the Pine River, Five Mile - Briarpatch Access at 9:45, unloaded the boats and gear and were ready at 10 am to drive to Pine River Paddlesports Center (Actually the Walker Bridge Canoe Livery) for our shuttle back to the put-in.
The paddling was wonderful! There were lots of opportunities for river reading and lots of wave trains to ride and log jams to steer around. Then there were the nice quiet spots to relax and catch up with friends and engage in interesting conversation.
We stopped for lunch at Skookum North Access and watched as a fisherman pulled in a nice bass. After lunch we headed back out for some more twisty-turny paddling.
All in all, we paddled about 12 miles with a nice leisurely lunch and were back at the take-out at 3 pm.
The weather was perfect, the river was fantastic and everyone had a lovely time!
...and we collected two good sized bags of garbage - mostly cans, snack bags and shoes!
