August 21, Big Boardman Float For Funding
Norm, Tina, Troy and Mike
Tina is the owner (along with Nate) of Rare Bird Brewery.
Troy is the owner of Paddle For Pints
Mike is singing in the background.
The Paddle For Pints Company which has been very supportive of the BRCS
and TAPC put on a full day of paddling and partying at the Rare Bird Brewery
on Sunday August 21. They had hot dogs, beer and music for their customers
and the Rare Bird's customers, too.
95.25 was collected for the BRCS Sanitary Fund that places trash cans and
toilets at landings along the Boardman River.
More funding will be coming from the sale of beer that was donated by 5 other
breweries. And even more will be donated by Rare Bird during September.
We wish to thank these breweries for their support:
Ferment
Right Brain
The Filling Station
North Peak
The Workshop
If you are in the neighborhood of the Rare Bird at Cass and Eight Streets, behind
Thirlby's, drop in and ask for the "DO GOOD BEER". The BRCS gets 1.00 for each beer sold.
The PFP Co has gotten a lot of flack from many but I need to let you know that they
run a very safe and controlled use of the river and run their outings is an amazing
responsible way, providing their customers with backpacks to be sure that trash
and personal belongings do not end up in the river.
PFP crews do weekly river cleanups and the river has never looked this good.
I commend the PFP team for their VERY RESPONSIBLE use of our Boardman River.
Our thanks goes out to Paddle For Pints and the Rare Bird Brewery for
holding this fund raising event for the BRCS and to the 5 other breweries that
donated beer to be sold at the event.
