Another unique paddling experience for me: new river, new boat (to me), members I have not met, and a river that brought me back to when I was fifty-some years younger and eager to see what was around the next bend.
Although a bit tamer than what I had expected, the challenges were many as I had not paddled anything close to it except the Grace to Lewis section which was a highway in comparison. A few of us were treated to the sight of an 8” (shell) Slider turtle, 18” trout crossing my bow then leaping out of the water for a tasty treat, and a muskrat swimming. A 3’ channel, low branches, scooching over logs, 2’ wide passages, sharp bends, great paddling tips and tricks will be remembered. A thank you to all for a memorable trip.
