May 27, 2017 13th Annual Boardman River Clean Sweep Event ********************************************************* This has been a difficult project to pull off year after year and one would think that it would get easier as time passed but it has not. The biggest problem is the picnic which has only gotten more difficult year to year. This year, David Fred took that on with a vengeance. He did a great job and I want to thank David publicly for his hard work. It was a beautiful day and the river was cleaner than we have ever found it. We found no more than 150 pounds of trash in all the sections combined. That is a testament of our efforts being successful. We are proud of the progress we have made in the 13 years we have worked on this project. Steve Largent's crew did identify and remove 10 yards or more of construction debris that was left over from a footbridge installation in the Grasshopper Creek area. It is better to get that out of the flood plain before it gets into the river during a high water event and becomes a real nightmare for us to remove. I want to thank all our 50+ sponsors, supporters and especially our volunteers for their hard work. Here are the ALL photos from this event. http://www.brcleansweep.org/All_BRCS_Sections_17_small/ Submitted by: Norm Fred
