July 22 Manistee, Woodpecker Creek to Red Bridge
Published on 7/22/2017
Beginners, new comers & guests made a fun group for an outing on the Big Manistee River. We launched at Woodpecker Creek, which had half pipes of PVC sewer pipes attached to the stair steps providing a neat way to slide the boats down to the water.
Some of the group spotted an eagle flying back to the nest with a fish gripped tightly in its talons. You could hear the young eaglets screaming for their dinner.
The weather was warm, but overcast, making for a fine day on this wide unshaded river.
