September 27 Victoria Creek

Victoria Creek Rescheduled, by Bert Courson

Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 2:05 PM until 5:10 PM

I was the only one on this trip. I paddled from Cedar to Lake Leelanau and back, with stops at Cedar Creek and the Big Pond.  The paddle took 3 hours and 10 minutes and was 7.25 miles long.

I did not see anybody else on Victoria Creek and Cedar Creek, just me and the birds. I saw many mallard ducks, 4 male wood ducks, 2 female wood ducks, 2 great blue herons, a few belted kingfishers, blue jays, and crows.

Weather was good, about 64 degrees. There was some red on the bushes.  A bit of wind on the way back gave me opportunity to practice paddling with feathered technique.
