Trip Reports

October 1 Manistee River, US-131 to Baxter Bridge

Published on 10/1/2017
If anyone on this trip needed help, they just needed to ask for John.  We had our choice between Mesch, Walton or Heiam.  Also along were Linda Pelkey (who had told me weeks ago, that she would be off on this lovely fall day), Marlene Puska (whose hubby Marv was there to provide our shuttle), Mariah Walton (who came all the way from Ireland to attend) and myself, Lois Goldstein.  It was a beautiful day, though we are still waiting for primo fall colors to appear.  Wildlife sightings included great blue heron, ducks and Holsteins.  A bit chilly at the beginning (lightweight hats and gloves), but warmed up by the time we were done paddling.  This is such a nice trip to take, especially when we are catching up with people we hadn't seen in a long time.  A nice casual pace, done by 3:15 PM.
Photos by John (guess which one?)

Just a tinge of fall color here

Every so often we would see a tree that looked at the calendar

Just like being on safari
