It was a busy but beautiful day for our group on the Jordan River. Glenn was in clean up mode picking cans, glass bottles, shoe soles and a pair of shorts out of the river. He was also in play mode bringing along a super soaker to provide an occasional rain shower on an otherwise clear day. We came across a few dicey spots that everyone negotiated without taking an unplanned swim. It was nice to have Marvin Ison and Linda Woodruff along join the usual cast that I paddle with Glenn, Jackie and Linda Pelkey and hope to see more new faces on future trips.
There was not much wildlife out but we did see a Green (Blue) Heron that Jackie and Glenn had a lengthy discussion over its color a beaver at work and a turtle or two.
One note to myself and others planning trips get out earlier than noon on the rivers to avoid the circus. We saw lots of people who had the essentials to be on the river. Beer, whiskey and cigarettes forget the life jackets and skills to paddle a fast running river.
