My delayed #allinonedayday since no participants yesterday for my Manistee River Trail all-day hike & paddle, and I was not feeling well. So today was a double your pleasure, double your fun, first paddle for the season in my solo canoe on the Manistee River from Woodpecker Creek to Red Bridge with Jackie & Ron, and my first road bike ride for the season on my own around Green Lake. It was definitely Spring, in the mid-upper 60s, wow! The current on the Manistee was a little above normal at 1600 cfs, so it was a fast 10-mile paddle in 2 hrs, surfing riffles, and getting sucked into the eddies on the bends, enjoying the bufflehead ducks, Canada geese & swallows, waterfalls flowing down to the river through the red clay, a few hikers on the MRT, and 4 fishermen in boats. Afterwards, we adjourned to the Hofbrau for more conversation & to replenish our energy for the afternoon.
