Trip Reports

July 1 South Branch of the AuSable

Published on 7/1/2019

Hello, I am Lison Poirette. If you usually read those reports, you probably recognized my last name. I am Jules’s sister, and we live in southern France. I got to Traverse City two weeks ago to visit my brother, improve my English skills, live new experiences and meet new people. Jules told me a lot about his canoe trips with Lois and John. So when I was told that they were going to bring me on one of those adventures, I got very excited. We went kayaking on the South Branch of the AuSable River. The weather was perfect and the 9 of us had a great trip. I met a lot of great people and that was great to see the wildlife, but also the different people using the river. We saw a kingfisher, a deer and several fishermen. And to finish this amazing day, we all got ice cream. A big thanks to Lois and John for bringing me on one of their journeys and thank you to everybody who showed up.

See you soon hopefully.

Lison Poirette

Note from editor: Attendees were Lison, Julie (her Michigan "mom"), Lois & John, Donna & Tom, Gerald & Sue and Bob (Lison called  him "Robert" with a delightful French accent!)
