6River Sweep
Strurgeon River Sweepers
The 6River Sweep has become an event at which people clean up the river
of their choice on the same day. This year it was a 2River Sweep.

This year we are happy to report that we are now a 501(c3) and open for business.
We had 9 volunteers and split up into 3 groups to tackle from Cornwell Grade
to Rondo access, including foot patrol. We were fortunate to have Sturgeon
River Paddlesports help with our shuttle and donate to our Onion Bag Project.
Also, Wolverine Cabinet Company purchased 6 new grabbers,
they really came in handy.
From the river, we yanked a steel drum, a wooden dock, shoes, tons of
lunchables and a lot of cans and bottles.
Our volunteers made this possible. We couldn't do this without them!
Some people adopt a road, we adopted a beautiful river!

Boyne River

Norm, we had a successful Boyne River sweep Saturday. About a dozen folks
helped out, some walking the banks and others paddling from Dam Road into
Boyne City. We collected about 200 pounds, and after recycling and
returnable, garbage was minimal.

Even if this becomes a 1River Sweep, next year, we will try this again.
