Trip Reports

October 6 Pine River, Walker to Dobson

Published on 10/6/2019

Participants included: John, Lois, Tracie, Jacqui, Jackie, Ron, Marlene, Donna, Tom, Gerald, and Susan

What a beautiful day to be on the Pine with a great bunch of friends. You could not ask for a nicer day, crisp autumn air to start the day that warmed up very nicely with only a few minutes of cigar smoke in the air. The change from Friday to Sunday proved to be a very wise choice. The river was flowing a bit fast, but everyone managed to stay right side up and dry. We stopped at Elm Flats for a well needed lunch break, my new Stanley thermo unit with hot soup in it made for a nice lunch. Looking back through the trip reports did verify that this year's fall colors are 2 to 3 weeks behind  "normal ". Not much else to say or ask for a beautiful day spent with a great bunch of people; it doesn't get much better than this. Other than a dry road to drive on - so the trailers didn't get a fresh consistent coat of mud on them.

Our boats were more colorful than the trees

This is what happens when you pull a trailer over a wet gravel road
