Trip Reports

July 2 Pere Marquette River

Linda Woodruff | Published on 7/2/2020

Eight of us (Lois, John, Marlene, Jocelyn, Harold, Donna, Tom and Linda) paddled the Pere Marquette from Bowman to Upper Branch Thursday. It was a very relaxing paddle on a beautiful day. Blue skies and warm weather provided a great day for a paddle with swim breaks to keep us cool and a little help from Rainbow Rapids. Jocelyn and Harold got some great shots of us going through the rapids. Animal sightings started early. On the way to the put-in a black bear was spotted near M37 and 55.  Deer and an eagle were seen on the river.

We avoided injury from a fishing lure hanging from a tree at eye level. Thankfully Jocelyn was able to remove it to prevent future injury to an unsuspecting future kayaker.

Thanks Lois and John for hosting the trip. Thanks to Marv for a safe shuttle.
