Trip Reports

No Mulligans needed on Marquette

Harold Lassers | Published on 7/19/2020

July 19: A pleasant afternoon, not a spoiled walk, a threesome and a foursome.  There was not much casual water from the storm. We had some small trouble in the sand trap but we wedged out of it.  Did some good strokes on Rainbow course.  Father M challenged us to a fine game. I shot an eagle. Everyone was on top of their rapid game. Pictures follow.

Translation: Seven descended the Pere Marquette.  We waited out the thunderstorms in the morning and began paddling about noon. The water was muddy from the storms but actual levels were just a tiny bit lower than Lois’s trip on July 2. We did have one sandbar that needed a bit of pulling and shoving to get over. No portaging was required. All did well. Pictures follow:
