Pine River Section: Briar Patch to Walker Bridge

Participants: Lois, John, Terry, Cindy, Jocelyn, Mike, Marlene, and Sara with shuttle provided by Marv

We had a pleasantly warm summer day with bright blue skies, and light breeze. The river was running at 240 CFS which means that many of the riffles will have rocks just below the surface. In a kayak it was hard to avoid sliding over at least one rock.  We decided at the start to stop at Lower Skookum for lunch. It was a good choice since Upper Skookum had a very large group unloading their boats and gear. We finished the trip in about 3 and a half hours including our lunch break. It would be easy to add 30 - 45 minutes to the trip by taking out at Lincoln bridge.
