The only slight screwup in our trip was telling people that they should park at the WEST side of the Scheck's Campground, but we all found each other eventually. John & I had dropped our minivan at Shumsky to be used later as the shuttle vehicle, and we were on the water by 9:05 AM. That was good, since later on, we saw a lot of boats being transported along the river corridor.
For John & Camille, it was a pleasure to be back up north, in the land of greenery, with all major downed trees having been cleared out of the Boardman River. Cyndi got the chance to practice her ferries, while Tom and Donna enjoyed seeing the results of their cleaning last week. Kathleen demonstrated her "Amazon woman" impression by hoisting her 14 pound boat up on to the roof of her car with virtually no effort. John & I were impressed!
Afterwards the 3 couples enjoyed a fabulous Greek lunch at Opa's. It was a cool day, with light windbreakers. We were glad we had postponed the trip from the previous day, when it rained.
