Today was the perfect weather for my newest hike & paddle on the Boardman River. First, a 5-mile clockwise loop in the Brown Bridge Quiet Area with Jocelyn Trepte from Brown's West End Bridge, up to the north ridge, down to the river, across Grasshopper Creek Bridge, and back through the woods, which took approx 1:45 hrs. After our hike & a picnic lunch, Jocelyn & I met the Melcareks & Mitch T at The Forks State Forest Campground for a 8-mile paddle back to Brown Bridge Landing, with a stop at Scheck's Horse Camp. The river was flowing well at 127 cfs, which was above normal, but rather gusty. We enjoyed lots of social distancing conversation together. Afterwards, 30 year old Mitch paddled all the way home to downtown TC. Oh, to be so young & have that much energy! Been there, done that, but not for many yrs!
