Sept 20 - Manistee River Trail hike & paddle

Another Manistee River Trail hike & paddle 9:30-4PM on another perfect fall day, cold morning but 60s afternoon, 10 mile hike from Red Bridge to Woodpecker Creek with Maxi, then 10 mile paddle back to my car & trailer, with Maxi paddling tandem, and new TAPC member (7AM this morning), Carol, in her new kayak. She's just moved back to TC to be near family since she can work remote, and what fun talking about all of the outdoor sports she's going to get involved in, and our canoe racing experiences. The Red Bridge parking lots were full this morning, and there were many backpackers on the trail, but so many with such heavy packs that I winced as they passed, hoping they can lighten the load on their future treks.
