September 23 Manistee: US-131 to Baxter

We aren't sure what others were doing today, but the four people who came along on our Manistee trip were delighted with the fall colors, and the fact that there were only five other people on the river; two other kayakers and three fishermen. Linda P and Marlene joined John and me for a tour from 131 to Baxter. Marv did the shuttle for us, and lunch went faster than normal since we had only four kayaks to land.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect: 49 when we arrived, 62 by launch time, 78 by the end, not much wind.
Easy paddling, good conversation, and amazing foliage!
