A cast of thousands! Not really, but it was our biggest trip in the past 18 months. The temp went up to 90, but we kept a decent pace. The water is still a bit nippy for swim breaks, even though we were tempted to take a dip.
People: Lois & John, Betty & Mike, Donna & Tom, Crystal & Jeremy, Jackie & Ron, Henry & Roseanne, Deena, Linnaea
Thanks go to many folks who helped to make things run smoothly:
Deena and Linnaea, who took all 8 drivers back in the morning
Mike and Betty, who returned the two morning drivers - and their kayaks - to the put-in after the trip was over
Sweeps: Ron and Henry
Every driver, who keep a tight line of vehicles as we headed down the road, and then had to detour due to road construction on the return trip.
John, who found a new (for us) lunch spot, that was totally in the shade - very welcomed indeed
John also mentored Jeremy, who is new to realizing that when you join this club (and especially talk to someone like John), you end up buying more gear
An extra-special thank you to Jackie, who graciously traded her lightweight paddle and Tsunami for Crystal's ten foot Dagger for the entire afternoon.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was having a nice wide river with few obstructions, so I could catch up on chatting with old friends. Thank you all for putting up with me!
