A Boardman River Limerick - Kathleen Imre
There once was a hot-weather quest
For a cool-water stream to de-stress.
After being rained out ,
There was never a doubt,
That a trip down the Boardman was best!
We started our shuttle by ten,
With Marv as our driver again.
John, Lois, Marlene,
Jacqui, Brad & Kathleen:
Four ladies and two gentlemen!
The Forks was the place we began
While following Lois’s plan.
John retrieved a raft wreck.
We then rested at Scheck’s,
But we just couldn’t reach that beer can!
We followed the current downstream
With summertime beauty the theme.
Black-eyed Susans, Vervain,
Baby ducks in a chain,
It was truly a paddler’s dream.
As we paddled to Brown Bridge Landing
Mid-river the fishermen were standing.
For these paddlers six
John took all of the pics
His photos are always outstanding!
And what better end for this bunch
Then to meet at PeeGeo’s for lunch?!
Pizza, fish, tea, and beer,
We were filled with good cheer!
And did Marv’s fancy drink pack a punch?!
