This trip was originally planned for the following Tuesday, but the forecast was not good for that day (90% chance of rain and temps in the 50s). So with two days notice, we moved it to Sunday, an 80 degree day with so much sunshine that sometimes it made it hard to read the water. We lost two registrants with that switch, but gained three who could now make it for the new date.
People: John & Lois, Pam, Susan & Gerald, Paul M, Wayne, Donna & Tom
Special thanks to Mark Miltner from PRPC for the shuttle; he also showed up at lunchtime at Dobson. One guy capsized twice getting into his new kayak after lunch. The water was about 6” deep, but he wasn’t watching the current. No harm done, and it was a warm day. We are thinking that it may be the last one! Two Serbian guys emptied the boat for him, and then I held onto it the next time he tried to get in.
Otherwise, it was a superb trip! Fall colors are not quite ready.
