The Traverse Area Paddle Club met at 1:30 p.m. at Penrod's in Grayling where we had permission to use their property to launch. Club members Jackie Anderson, Jane Cloutier, Ron Coyne, Anne Donn, Lois Goldstein (the trip host), Harold Lassers, Pam Lassers, Tom Lipps, Marlene Puska, Donna Steinebach, Sara Cockrell and Jocelyn Trepte were present. We paddled 13 miles downstream under clear skies and mild temperatures to Stephan Bridge. Landing was made at 5:30 p.m. The club members were so helpful in guiding this newbie through paddling safety, etiquette and technique with patience and good humor.
