June 3 Jordan River

This was my third TAPC adventure since having moved to Traverse City a couple of weeks ago. We had a delightful group on the Jordan River. It consisted of trip host Lois, president Tracie, sweep Glenn, newbie Kent, wife of the shuttle driver Marlene, Bob Fitch, and me, Leslie, also a bit of a newbie. We were a little concerned that it might be chilly, but it turned into a beautiful, sunny, early summer day. We paddled from Graves Crossing to Rogers Road, with a break at Webster. We had a few photos courtesy of Glenn, but unfortunately he did not get a video of the action of pumping out one of the kayaks. That occurred when a tree got in the way of one of the kayaks and the person leaned the wrong way just for a few seconds! Later on Glenn provided a wonderful service by plopping his canoe on top of a log so that everybody else could skooch over it easily. John Heiam had been out bicycling in the area, and he met us at the takeout along with shuttle bunny Marv. Afterwards, most of us gathered for some delicious food at The Foundry in East Jordan. It was a wonderful day for paddling.
