July 4 Boardman cleanup

I noticed some things that needed to be picked up when I paddled this section last weekend, and I vowed to go back to retrieve the non-native debris. So on July 4th morning, I met up with Glenn, new member Chad, and Pam & Harold, and we left the river spotless. I found the cans that had eluded me the last time; it was warm enough to stand knee-deep and use my spear; thanks to Chad who leaves no can unstabbed. Pam got remnants of sparklers, plus we picked up a few items at each access. Off the river before noon, and lots of folks at BBL helped to haul up our boats and gear.
We left the river cleaner than we found it, and that's a good thing!
